Which flyer is this one?
If you have lived in downtown Beaverton for more than a season, you have probably asked that question standing at a bus stop near The Round, looking at a poster for something called a night market and trying to remember if you already went to this one back in August, or if this is the other one, or the new one the Downtown Association started. The confusion is reasonable. Three separate organizations are running three separate evening markets in the same few downtown blocks this year, and they have almost nothing in common except the words in their name.
Sorting out which is which matters if you actually want to show up prepared, know what parking is going to look like, or figure out whether the event on your calendar is the 60-vendor city tradition or the themed pop-up that happens almost every month now.
The original: twelve Augusts at The Round
The Beaverton Night Market is the one with the longest history. It started in 2014 as part of the city's Welcoming Week and is run by Beaverton's Diversity Advisory Board, a city-appointed group focused on equity and inclusion. In 2026 it hit its 12th year, held Saturday, August 8, from 5 to 10 p.m. at The Round on Southwest Crescent Street, with admission free and more than 60 vendors selling globally inspired street food, handmade crafts, and art alongside live music and dance performances.
This is a single big Saturday, not a recurring series. It happens once a year, typically in August, and it draws crowds in the thousands. Organizers are upfront that parking around The Round gets tight fast, and they encourage walking, biking, or transit, since the venue sits right off the Beaverton Central MAX stop. If someone tells you they went to "the Beaverton Night Market" and it was packed with global food stalls and dance performances, this is almost certainly the one they mean.
The one that quietly got bigger: Legendary Makers Market
A separate event, also held at The Round but spilling into the Patricia Reser Center for the Arts next door, has grown into something larger than the original in just a few years. Legendary Makers Market is a partnership between the city and Asian American Town, and its third annual edition ran July 12 and 13, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. across both days. Organizers estimated that 2025 edition drew about 35,000 people, with more than 150 vendors and community partners, including what they describe as Oregon's largest showcase of Asian food offerings to date.
Tom Sollitt, the creator of Asian American Town and one of the event's organizers, has said the market is meant as a statement about belonging and the future of Beaverton's communities. Whatever the exact framing, the scale speaks for itself. A three-year-old event pulling an estimated 35,000 attendees over two days had, by its third summer, already outdrawn the market that has been running since 2014.
The new one that shows up almost every month
The newest addition is smaller by design and runs on a completely different rhythm. The Beaverton Downtown Association's Everything Funky Neighborhood Night Market is a themed evening market that shows up several times a year rather than once, with 2026 dates on September 5, October 10, and November 14, each from 5 to 9:30 p.m. The themes rotate: Back-to-School Night Market in September, a Stranger Things-inspired edition on October 10, and a Harvest and Holiday market closing out the year on November 14.
This one leans into local vendors, food trucks, and family-friendly entertainment rather than the cultural-showcase format of the other two. It is also the market most likely to overlap with an ordinary Saturday night out, since the Downtown Association's calendar treats it as a recurring fixture of the district alongside things like live music at Ickabod's Bar & Grill, rather than a once-a-year destination event.

Why one downtown ended up with three of these
The layering makes more sense once you see how each one started. The Diversity Advisory Board's market began as a single city-run event tied to an equity initiative, and it has stayed roughly that size and shape for over a decade. Legendary Makers Market started later as a partnership with a specific cultural organization and grew fast enough to now claim a bigger crowd than the market that predates it. The Downtown Association's series is the newest piece, and it fills a different gap entirely: instead of one giant Saturday, it gives the district something to point to on a regular basis, timed around themes that change with the season.
None of the three replaced another. Each answers a different question. Do you want the city's original multicultural celebration, the fast-growing Asian American cultural showcase that now spans two venues, or a smaller evening out with food trucks and a seasonal theme that happens closer to monthly? Downtown Beaverton currently has an answer for all three, which is unusual for a city this size, and worth knowing before you commit a Saturday to the wrong one.
What is actually left this fall
The Back-to-School edition of the Everything Funky series already happened on September 5. The next one worth putting on the calendar is the Stranger Things-themed Night Market on October 10, followed by the Harvest and Holiday edition on November 14. Both run 5 to 9:30 p.m. with free admission. Neither requires waiting until next August, and neither will draw the kind of crowd that makes parking near The Round a genuine problem.
If you are looking for the big cultural showcases, the Beaverton Night Market has already wrapped for 2026, and Legendary Makers Market has run every summer since its debut, with its most recent confirmed edition in July 2025. Mark next summer's calendar for both, since each has settled into the same July and August windows for several years running.
Downtown Beaverton keeps adding to its calendar rather than trading one event for another, and that is worth knowing the next time a flyer catches your eye at the bus stop.
